A breath of summer light held within soft pink bloom. This work captures my experience of standing beneath the Christmas bush, looking upward as the branches open into sky and light. Painted in acrylic with layered texture, the composition is vertical and airy, built from delicate tones of pink, softened greens and luminous light-filled spaces. The surface allows colour and light to shift gently across the work, creating a sense of openness and movement. It reflects the feeling of being held within a season rather than simply observing it. An uplifting vertical piece that brings natural lightness and warmth into interior spaces.

Materials: Acrylic and texture paste

Surface: Stretched canvas

Height: 81 centimetres

Width: 41 centimetres

Description
Its overall light tones help to brighten and soften interior spaces, bringing a sense of air and openness into the room. Vertical artwork also tends to introduce a stronger sense of presence. Because the format mirrors the human body’s upright scale, vertical works often feel more “anchored” and focal. They can act almost like a visual column in a room, quietly structuring the space without needing furniture or architecture to do that job. Made in 2026 Looks good unframed as well
