A shifting field of blue-green where no leaf repeats itself. This work is inspired by the canopy of an ironbark, where bluish foliage and soft pink hanging blooms sit together in constantly changing light. It reflects my interest in the subtle variations within Australian native trees, where colour is never uniform, even when it appears so at first glance. Built in acrylic with layered texture, the surface creates a rhythmic composition of blues, greens and muted pinks. From a distance it feels almost monochromatic, yet up close every leaf reveals its own distinct tone and character. It speaks to the quiet complexity of the Australian bush.
