Tetiana Koldunenko
She is a painter, designer, and illustrator, born in Kyiv, Ukraine, and based in Sydney, Australia since 2010. Trained in the classical European school of realistic drawing and painting, she has worked across many mediums and is best known for her detailed, nature-inspired textured works.
Her process begins with shallow sculptural relief backgrounds that capture the forms and textures of the Australian bush. Onto these surfaces, she layers subtle hues and naturalistic details. From a distance, the paintings often read as abstract compositions; up close, they reveal intricate studies of colour and form.

As a newcomer to Australia, painting became her way of connecting with the land—learning its trees, flowers, and light through close observation. She believes that when something is truly known, it is more deeply cared for. Her work invites viewers to see the bush not as a uniform green mass, but as a collection of distinct, vibrant individuals.
For Tetiana, making art is not separate from life; it is a way of exploring, understanding, and sharing experience. Through her paintings, she aims to highlight the uniqueness of Australian nature and to offer interiors a sense of place that feels distinctly and proudly Australian.
