A new project of Ukrainian Culture Research Centre Australia.
“Scarlet &Black” presentation that shows traditional Ukrainian outfits of different regions and highlights on how the war affected the region. Show was held at Ukrainian Festival UkiFest Sydney on 27th of August 2022 at Tumbalong park Darling Harbour.
Heartfelt thanks to all the participants: Models who had arrived to Sydney from Ukraine in the last half of year, fleeing the terror of war.
Roxolana Mishalow  for letting us use her collection of authentic old clothes and enormous support.
Tania Whitbourn for letting us use the collection of her late mother Hrystyna Bailey, as well as for narration and filming the show.
Backstage support team: Yevgeniya Chemerys, Kateryna Chemerys and Oksana Zhukovych.
Many thanks to festival organiser Justin Senko for technical support
As a curator I created: slides, text, replicas of jewellery and head wreaths.

Thank you all – the models and support team! We did it! We’ve told our story of beauty and sorrow. But, hopefully, we all keep only the beautiful memories. Thanks to the photos by brilliant photographer Tetiana Matsypura.
